Yeah, -3.9dB at 100ft on 900Mhz. Something is wrong with your setup. Unfortunately the only line / antenna analyzer I have tops out at 600MHz

Off the top of my head the loss of 40ft of LMR 400 at 900MHz should be way less than the 6dB of gain.

My last radio in a box IC706 simply doesn't have a battery but has a 20 ft power cable.

The other one with batteries I just keep plugged into my solar setup.

What brand of cooler? One of the big traditional igloos, 120qt or so. Since I'm too old to bring 60 beers out to Cuddyback any more I'm looking to downsize. 1 block of ice and 20 lbs of regular ice has usually lasted me all of Burning Ham. Thursday afternoon - Sunday afternoon. 90% of the loose ice melts 50% of the block melts.
