TFTT/DAG Combat Casualty Care Course (TBD)
TFTT/DAG Combat Casualty Care Course (TBD)
I got to talking to some people about shooting earlier today, and taking training classes. TFTT/DAG is a group I've known from the time back when I worked up at Burro Canyon. They're running a Tactical Combat Casualty Course next friday, at riflegear in OC. Class cost is $100. I'm going to sign up. Afterwards I'll talk to the instructor and see if we can arrange other classes with them.
If you want to come to class with me, lemme know, registration link: http://dag-usa.com/events/tactical-comb ... alty-care/

Re: TFTT/DAG Combat Casualty Care Course 9/8
I'm tied up that day, but interested.
Re: TFTT/DAG Combat Casualty Care Course 9/8
What do you want in a medical course?
The instructor teaching my Emergency Medical Responder class is one of the best Red Cross instructors, an EMT, and former army and national guard.
If there's no specific certification, I can probably have her put together a custom class.
I can also talk to the paramedics who teach the Combat Life Saver class for the National Guard/State Military Reserve about doing a class.

If you can line up some people to put on a CLS class for us, see what they'd charge. I'd guess we'd probably have 5 people.

Re: TFTT/DAG Combat Casualty Care Course 9/8
My EMR instructor is very interested in teaching this class.
She flew out last night to medic at a women's martial arts camp so it'll be a little bit before she can get back to me about scheduling.
She thinks 5 students will be doable. I'll find out more when she gets back about costs.

Excellent, thanks for following up.
I'm guessing we'll need some things:
* Venue - Place to do it, Nacho, any chance we could use a community room?
* Do we need supplies? I can ask around and see what I can get in donated (read expired) supplies we can use as training aids.
* Would be great if we could get a cost on this to cover her time, and then roll in whatever we need in supplies.

Depending on the date I may be able to get a room at the church for us. I'm assuming weekend or evening.

Thursday nights may be difficult.

Re: TFTT/DAG Combat Casualty Care Course (TBD)
Any night other than tuesday? I'm not opposed to tuesday, but this may not be something everyone is interested in.
I should probably add, we should see what our instructor has available.
